I made it!

Hey! So I actually did it! I moved 500 miles from everything I know to Sandpoint, Idaho. I just got my internet set up a few days ago, so I figured now was an appropriate time to put up a post. I've done my nails and some friends nails since I last posted, so here are all the pictures. Sorry that I haven't been doing them one at a time with explanations, I've just got a lot going on and can't always get to it. BUT, I'm going to do my best to be better.. :)

Ok so here we go...

These are Ashley's nails. She wanted something a little bit different but has loved the zebra print so much that she didn't want to steer away from it. :) So we changed up the colors a bit. Reminds me of watermelons.

Ashley asked if I'd do her friend's (Aimee) nails too since I'd be moving the next day and she knew it'd be a while before I could do her nails agian. I agreed. Aimee wanted cheetah print. I'd never attempted the cheetah before but kinda knew the basics, so I agreed and the outcome was awesome!

Next is Destiny. She might as well be my sister. :) She lives up here in Sandpoint and asked me to do her nails many times. For her first time, I asked what she'd like to have done, and she said she saw my pandas and would like the same. I agreed and here is the outcome...

Cassie is Destiny's sister, which in turn is like my other sister. ;) She, too, wanted her nails done, and wanted a french mani. I asked if she wanted a design and we came up with the bursts. She picked yellow and black as her colors, but the yellow didn't show as well as we'd hoped.

For Halloween, Destiny wanted to be the cookie monster. While I was still in Boise, I came up with a nail design for her costume :) Here's the turn out:

And finally I got around to doing my own nails, after having the previous nail polish almost completely chipped off. lol. I wanted polka dots. I couldn't quite decide on a color but I wanted them bright. So I did the rainbow of neons on white.

I'm definitely on a new adventure here in Sandpoint, and so far, it's been pretty good. I miss my family and friends in Boise, but this week I'll be making a road trip down for my sister-in-law's babyshower! Yay for my new nephew making me an aunt! :)) Hope you enjoyed the pictures. Until next time...

Long Summer/Fall

Sorry I haven't posted since May. It's been a crazy long summer/fall season. A lot has happened and a lot has changed. For several months, I didn't do my nails, but finally got back in the swing of things. Here are the designs I've done, and if you'd like to know what I used or how I did it, I'll be happy to explain. Enjoy!

Some of the hands aren't mine, they are family members that I painted their nails. :)

Anyway, I'm moving in three days, so unfortunately this will be my last post til I get internet in my new apartment. I will be moving 500 miles from my home town, so wish me luck! TTFN!

In Memory...

Hello. Unfortunately this blog isn't going to be much of a fun read, but more sad. I'm just going to apologize in advance. This blog is in memory of my father, Jim. He passed away May 14, 2011 and the passing was very sudden. I didn't get along with him most of my youth years, but nonetheless he was still my father. To be completely honest with you, I never knew I could miss him so much. Life is much different without him in it, and it definitely makes me sad. He was only 54 years old and should have stayed around for many years to come. My birthday was May 22 and I turned 21. It's the first birthday my dad hasn't been a part of, and I only wish he could've shared that day with me. His funeral was May 19, and for his service, in his honor, I did a mani of his favorite color, red.

I started with two coats of China Glaze White on White, as usual. Then two coats of China Glaze Salsa. One coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust. And finally, one coat of SV. I did the mani over a week ago, but I haven't taken it off yet. Everytime I look at my hands, I think of my dad, who is no longer with us. So here it is...

Salsa

I had never done a red mani before this one. I do like the look of it, it's very bold, and best of all, it was for my daddy....

Cracked Tree

I got some new colors and wanted to try some out. I really liked the way this turned out and I got tonz of compliments. I started with two coats of China Glaze White on White. I did three coats of China Glaze Tree Hugger. One coat of SV. One coat of China Glaze Cracked Concrete Crackle Glaze. One coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust and then a last coat of SV. I know I'm kind of a Fairy Dust freak, cuz I do use it a lot, but I really like the final touch it gives. So here it is.

I liked the subtleness of the crackle with the green. Definitely will try this again. :)

Pink AND Sparkley!!

I took a leap of faith and boy am I glad I did! There is a woman who is amazing at nails, her name is Erika and she has a blog named Chloe's Nails. She did a post about this nail polish named A Bubbly Bombshell. I took faith in her words and hopped on Ebay to buy both polishes she has listed in her blog. I loved the color of the Orly Bubbly Bombshell.

It was NOT fun to get off though lol. LOTS and LOTS of glitter. But very pretty on. :)

Poiple Plat!

So I'd been super busy this past month and surprisingly enough, the Spontaneous I had painted last month lasted the whole time, other than the new nail growing in had no polish on it. But finally got a chance to sit down and release my stress by painting my nails! :)

I had ordered some new colors and was so excited to finally be able to try some out. One of them that I'd ordered is a purple with little blue, pink and purple glitter specks in it. you have to look really close to even notice them, but they're definitely there! So i decided to do a mani using my new purple.

To start I used Seche Clear for my base. Then I did two coats of China Glaze White on White because the colors usually turn out better with a base of white, plus you don't have to put on seven layers of the color to get it to look like the bottle does. (especially when they're so thin!) Then I did two coats of my new purple, China Glaze Flying Dragon (Neon). I was a little bummed that the glitter specks didn't show as much on the nail as they do in the bottle. Then I took my Konad Stamper and used a design on m64 using China Glaze Platinum Silver for my design. After stamping all my nails, I used SV as my top coat.

Platinum Purple

I really liked the way this mani turned out. And when the sun hits the Silver, I definitely SHINE! ;)

Zebra-licious

I do nails for one of my friends, Ashley. She looked at my pictures i have posted and asked if I could do the zebra print for her. Well, the zebra print that I had done, wasn't really MY creation, it was the Sally Hansen Salon Effect, so.... I told her I would try doing it freehand and see what happened. Well guess what!? It turned out BETTER than the Sally Hansen! I was so excited, so here's what i did...

I did a base coat of Seche Clear. Then two coats of China Glaze White on White. After the white dried, I took my Black Stripe Rite and did free hand random lines and "V" shapes until the nail was covered, then did a black tip. To make it sparkle a bit I added one coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust. And to top it off, used SV for the quick top coat. I was pretty impressed at how awesome they turned out!

My Zebra

SEE! What'd I tell ya! I think I'll have to try it again sometime soon!
